Trim and Wipers

This is how busted my original RT4WD moldings were.

And I was missing this piece all together...

When I took the old moldings off, I found that the previous owner used roofing tar and sheetrock screws to try and hold the busted moldings on... fun.

I posted a Wanted ad on HondaCivicWagon.com and unlimited02 got back to me pretty quickly.  He sent me out a complete set of RT4WD moldings that look really nice.  They are in great shape for their age and the decals look good too.  Pretty easy install!

My wipers were all oxidized and most of the paint faded off.  I got a can of Rustoleum Pro Flat Black and they fixed right up.

Busted

I got all the coilovers installed except the driverside rear. I was having a hard time getting the lock nut off the top of the shock sleeve. All the others came off fine, but this one was pretty stubborn.

By the time I got it going, the allen head was beginning to strip out. So I had to drill the allen head out with a power drill. I knew the shock was pretty much trash at this point, but I wanted to salvage the top hat.

I ordered just one shock from O'Riely's but it won't be here until Tuesday, so the car is sitting on jacks stands until then... :(

I have a feeling the rears are going to be dropped pretty significantly... look how much space there is between the top hat and spring still!

Halfway Low

I got the front lowered today. It went pretty easy once I got the forks off. I'm not dropping it too much, just enough to get a little tire tuck, ya know help out the stance a little. It's mostly visible if you notice the fender gap.

Finally Some Style

I picked up some Skunk2 coilovers from EFParts.com. Great deal on em, and should help out the stance on the wagon pretty nicely. Maybe I'll put em on this weekend.

I also picked up some Side Markers, a Center Console from an EF, Yellow JDM foglights with the stock switch and some replacements for my busted widow sills.

Wink Mirror

I just installed a 5 panel "Wink" mirror in the wagon. There is pretty much no blind spot with this type of mirror. To make the install easy, I just took out the visors and plugged the mounting brackets into the holes from the visors. They were pretty dirty and busted anyway.

I'll get some better pics later, but I think I'll like this inexpensive little mod!

Here are some better pics:

Here you can see the damage to the key. My guess is that the pulley/harmonic balancer was out of balance, and having it wobble so much during the road trip cause the bolt to back out.

I got a new pulley, bolt and key from Honda. It was an easy install. Car is running well now, but just in case, I check the bolt everyday!

Winter Cruise

I took the wagon to Show Low to get some winter snow action. The car did well in the snow, and on the road trip until I was about 30 miles from my destination.

Suddenly, the water temp gauge started going down, then the battery light came on. The car was driving rough and losing power.

I pulled over at a gas station and found that the main pulley bolt had come off completely. The pulley was wobbling around and the alternator belt was missing.

It turned into quite the adventure. I got the car towed, the shop told me that the car needed a new crankshaft!! I told them to put down the joint and got a ride back to Phoenix. I had to leave the car in Show Low for a week. .The next weekend, I rented a car dolly and went to get her.

Roof Rack

I got a killer deal on this Yakima Roof Rack. It came with 2 kayak and 2 bike attachments. It's a little faded from the intense desert sun out here, but still completely functional. Now I just have to buy a visor to help the wind pass over the top of the rack.

After installing and doing some research, these are the wrong towers... I was able to get them to work, but I need the Q-Towers, and unknowingly bought the 1A Raingutter towers...

I am gonna try to sell this set up and buy a proper one.
